Student pathways program
Modern education recognises that students take many different pathways in order to achieve future success. Robina State High School’s flexible and validated pathways programs assist students to effectively develop their skills and transition to further study, work, or training at a time most appropriate to them.
The student pathways department encompasses both academic and vocational strands. Our brief includes providing courses and opportunities for students whilst they are still at school, as well as establishing a viable educational platform from which young people can launch their careers.
To ensure depth and currency, we deal directly with tertiary institutions, the business and industry community, government bodies, not-for-profit organisations and other training agencies to source opportunities for the full range of our students. These opportunities may typically involve a Year 12 student attending a semester of university whilst at school; a senior student undertaking a School- based Apprenticeship or Traineeship therefore earning credits and wages whilst studying; students trying out various industries through Work Experience, or studying Vocational Education & Training (VET) with an outside provider, or within school.
In conjunction with this, Student Pathways develops and delivers the Senior 'Stronger Together' Care programme. This incorporates our core values, the Year Leaders and the Student Leadership team, House Leaders and Captains and our Student Council.
Our brief covers areas such as:
ATAR and QCE
School-based Apprenticeships and Traineeships-SATs involve a student beginning their paid working lives whilst at school. Students attend paid work and training in a nationally recognised qualification whilst studying in a flexible school timetable.
Work Experience - students choose when and where they wish to undertake Work Experience across the Gold Coast. This program is entirely voluntary.
