Hello and welcome to the Chaplaincy page! My name is Reaksmey (reeks-may) and I am the school chaplain here at Robina State High School.
A School Chaplain is a safe person for young people to connect with at school on a confidential and voluntary basis. My role is to provide a listening ear, caring presence, and support where needed. I care for students tackling a range of issues that relate to their social, emotional, and spiritual development. My approach is to walk alongside their journey, encourage personal strength and awareness, and give hope in their circumstances. I plan on facilitating programs that foster student leadership and positive self-development. Further, I extend care and support to families and staff when necessary.
I have been working with young people, adults, and families in a range of roles, which include counselling, facilitating, training, and teaching. My passion is supporting and developing young people. My educational background includes a Master's in Counselling, Bachelor's in Psychology, and a Certificate IV in Youth Work.
I am excited to spearhead the Chaplaincy program here, which has been in effect since 2006. I am on site Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. You can reach me by calling the school or emailing me.
Note: The Robina State High School Chaplaincy Program was boosted by the Federal Government's National Schools Chaplaincy Program. It is jointly funded by the Federal Government and community groups including local churches, community organisations, and donors. The chaplaincy program is managed by Scripture Union.
