Triathlon Academy

Are you also interested in applying for a Kingfisher Scholarship for Year 7 2019?

The Robina Triathlon Academy will give up-and-coming sportspeople the opportunity to develop into elite athletes through our high performance training program. Under the guidance of Triathlon Australia Accredited coaches and former professional triathletes, Robina students will be able to combine their studies at school whilst advancing their levels of conditioning to perform at the highest level both in their racing and in the classroom.

The background of each athlete will vary – you may be already training in a squad under a coach, you may be a beginner or maybe you want to give triathlon a go for the first time. Whatever your situation, you are welcome to do the extra training you need whilst attending school at the same time. Each week you will do up to an extra 5 hours of training on top of your regular sessions, perform biomechanical analysis, race strategies, sports psychology, nutrition and you will also complete regular testing to determine an individualised program to enhance your personal performance.

What makes a good triathlete?

Did you know that a majority of medallists at the Triathlon World Championships and Olympic Games originally came from a different sport before choosing triathlon? Often the very best athletes in the world had never considered triathlon until they were in their teenage years. With a periodised structured training program and high performance individual coaching, you could one day be representing Australia and traveling the world in a sport that you may not have previously given much thought to. You certainly need to be athletic, determined and committed to consistent training and racing but with the world at your feet it is certainly worth trying.
