NAIDOC Week Celebrations

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July (RSHS is celebrating NAIDOC week in the last week of term two) to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. Robina State High School offered a range of activities to allow students and staff to show their support or participate in.

After the Welcome to Country acknowledgement, the children enjoyed activities such as:

  • Emu Calling
  • Indigenous Weaving
  • Boomerang Dot Painting
  • Hand art painting
  • Kangaroo meat tasting
