Robina SHS’s flexible and validated pathways programs assist students to effectively develop their skills and transition to further study, work, or training at a time most appropriate to them. The Student Pathways department encompasses both academic and vocational strands. Our brief includes providing courses and opportunities for students whilst they are still at school, as well as establishing a viable educational platform from which young people can launch their careers. To ensure depth and currency, we deal directly with tertiary institutions, the business and industry community, government bodies, not-for-profit organisations and other training agencies to source opportunities for the full range of our students. These opportunities may typically involve a Year 12 student attending a semester of university whilst at school; a student undertaking a School- based Apprenticeship or Traineeship therefore earning credits and wages whilst studying; students participating in the Community Mentoring and Work Readiness programs, or trying out various industries through Work Experience. In conjunction with this, Student Pathways develops and delivers the school Care programme, PROMOTE, to all students. This incorporates our core values, the House system, House Leaders and works in tandem with Year Leaders and the student leadership team. Our brief covers areas such as:
