The Robina State High School League for Life Program commenced in 2007 and is a holistic approach to schooling that uses rugby league, associated principles, IT and essential life skills to encourage students to learn.

The aim of the program is to assist students to get the best from their schooling experience. The LfL program also provides students with valuable skills they can draw upon throughout their life and supports improving literacy, numeracy, IT skills and fitness levels of students.

The program runs from Year 9 to 12 and students work with Robina SHS staff, key personnel and players from the Titans and the Gold Coast ARL development officers. Griffith University is assisting in monitoring the program. In 2007 23 Year 9 students are enrolled in the “Giant Steps” pilot program studying P.E. (Rugby League), Maths, English, and The Arts together as well as a welfare program. The curriculum is based around rugby league. Students also take other subjects outside of the LFL program.

In 2008 three secondary schools will start the League for Life program- Nerang SHS and Elanora SHS on the Gold Coast and Patrician Brothers, Blacktown in N.S.W. These schools are very keen to implement the program and are the first schools to be a part of the expansion. It is anticipated that more schools will follow in 2009. With the certain expansion of the program the ARL Development and Griffith University will become major partners and there is an opportunity for the NRL One Community and other NRL clubs to become involved.
