2010 Student Levy Payments |
Please keep in mind that a lot of parents like to come into the school to make payments during the final week of school. If you'd like to avoid long queues and significant waiting times, we strongly recommend making your payment online using the direct credit into the schools bank account, or send your payment forms back in with the credit card information completed. Details for both payment types can be found on your 2010 Student Levies form.
Specific details of payment of the levies can be found here. |

Helping Keep the Road Toll Down |
Reducing the Road Toll is something that our Police desperately want to do. They are very concerned that 299 Queenslanders have tragically lost their lives on our roads to date this year. In the hope of giving their message more impact, QLD Police called upon 299 Robina High students to assist them with a visual representation of this sad statistic.
Our students wore 299 caps representing the total number of fatalities on 10 November, including 32 red ones highlighting the number of residents in the South Eastern police region who have lost their lives on our roads this year.
You may have seen us on the Gold Coast news and also in the Gold Coast Bulletin. |

Sports Stars Encourage Our Sporting Achievers |
Two Australian sporting identities were special guests at this year's Sports Awards Dinner. Socceroo and Gold Coast United player, Jason Culina along with Ky Hurst, Ironman and Olympian joined us at the event which recognises our sporting achievers for 2009. Both men spoke of their own sporting achievements, but more importantly shared their experiences about staying focussed and committing to attaining one's goals. We congratulate our Sportswoman of the Year, golfer, Saki Suzuki and our Sportsman of the Year, another golfer, Simon Viitakangas. Both of these aspiring champions are members of the school's Golfing Excellence program. |

Showcase Award For Excellence |
We are proud that our highly successful League for Life program received the Showcase Award for Excellence in Community Partnerships at this year's State Education gala dinner. Aimed to inspire Year 8 to 10 students, particularly the disengaged or underachieving, the League for Life program combines curriculum and life skills with the motivational power of sport. The program links with a range of community organisations including the Gold Coast Titans rugby league club, Griffith University, the Salvation Army and Queenslanders in the Community charity. Attendance and retention rates for these students have improved alongside academic results, better health and fitness, and targeted post-school pathways. Great achievement for all involved! |

And so ends another successful year for Robina's entries in the Gold Coast Secondary Schools' Drama Festival. The festival is in its 37th year and is the largest of its type in the southern hemisphere. Robina High School entered a play in all three sections with plenty of success. All three casts were awarded highly commended certificates. The big prizes of outstanding actor awards went to one Mikhail Sheldon (Intermediate) and Ksenia Usoltseva (Senior), with the best comic performance going to Jasmine Powell and Adam Danson (Intermediate). Overall, the performance of 'Skewl Daze; The Emo's Revenge' took out the runner up prize overall in the intermediate section. |

We have been recognised in the Excellence in Community or Industry Partnerships category. Winners will be announced at the end of October.
